Previous reviews on the universal espresso carafe helped me decide to purchase this as a replacement for my broken original carafe. This one is definitely heartier and less delicate than the original that comes with your machine. As suggested, save the lid to your broken one as this universal one comes lidless. It's a huge improvement; too bad the original carafes aren't this good.
