luke warm coffee March 5, 2010 Janice C. Volkman (Pennsylvania) While the coffee maker works quickly and easily, the brewed coffee does not stay wam, even for thirty minutes. This seems to be a design flaw with the cap. JCV
Good thermal carafe machine, but pay attention to the stop-and-pour feature. March 2, 2010 L. Reznicek (Chicago, IL United States) This Cuisinart FlavorBrew thermal carafe coffee maker is compact and stylish, and makes a tasty cup that stays hot for hours without additional heating. We like our coffee strong, and this machine's brew tastes best when using 8 cups of water or less. One caveat: the stop-and-pour mechanism is very sensitive, and the filter holder must be firmly seated before you start brewing. Otherwise, the filter holder can unintentionally lift up causing the spring-loaded drain plug to close, which can create an overflow. Other than this little quirk, we're very happy with the coffeemaker!
I really wanted to like this February 26, 2010 Sonia N. Daily (Midland, MI) This is a great looking coffeemaker and I really wanted to like it. I read the negative comments about the coffee not being hot enough but thought they were being too picky and just liked their coffee scalding hot. I found a great price on this at a warehouse club and it looked great in my kitchen. But then I made coffee and it is lukewarm on the first sip and actually cold in minutes. Steam comes out of the machine so I can't quite figure out why the coffee is cold. I even tried starting with warm water which was a bit better but not enough. I don't want coffee that burns my mouth but I really don't want lukewarm coffee - yuck.
Returning it and going with a Mr Coffee depsite being an appliance snob!
You will be sorry! February 21, 2010 UA Bear (Columbus Ohio) Cuisinart compact 10-cup coffee maker with Thermal Carafe. What a disappointment. No instruction manual in box and none on line. Coffee pot overflows if the lid is not tightly attached and grounds get into the coffee pot. Difficult to pour water into the reservoir. Clock and auto set stopped working after 3 months. Coffee pot stylistically is very attractive but the coffee brewing can be a nightmare.
Wakes you up February 18, 2010 Ellen Dawson (Lusby, MD) When the husbands hours got shifted to early, we needed a programmable coffee pot and this works great....the only complaint is the alarm. It beeps when the coffee is done. At 3:30 in the morning, it seems awful loud so I set the programming and it now beeps the same time as the alarm clock is going off. It would be nice if the beep could be turned off but it's still a great coffee pot and I would buy again.
